For me, as an alumnus of a Jesuit university, the Spiritual Exercises and Daily Examen of St. Ignatius of Loyola are very familiar spiritual resources. The tradition of Ignatian Spirituality is, thankfully, still very much alive in the Church of the 21st century, especially on the campuses of Jesuit schools and has been since the first of them at Manresa, the birthplace of the Society of Jesus. Ignatius teaches us how to abandon ourselves and all we are and have to God and His will for us, while seeking no more than His love and mercy. This kind of DNA-level spirituality seems to me to be something that derives from the Spanish blood and heritage of Ignatius and the Jesuits. St. Ignatius, pray for us and with us!
