Sister Lucía Dos Santos, seer of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal, said in an interview that "the Rosary is the fighting weapon of the spiritual battles of the last times."
The interview was conducted by Fr. Agustín Fuentes, Postulator for the Cause of the Holy Shepherdesses Francisco and Jacinta Marto, on Dec. 26, 1957.
The place of the meeting between the priest and the visionary, which was also attended by some members of the clergy, was the Convent of the Discalced Carmelites of St. Teresa, in Coimbra.
On that day, Sister Lucia affirmed that the Blessed Virgin told the shepherd children that there were two ultimate remedies that God granted to the world: the Holy Rosary and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The nun, who died in 2005, stressed that with the Holy Rosary the faithful will be saved and sanctified, and will console the Lord Jesus and obtain the salvation of many souls.
"That is why the devil will do everything possible to distract us from this devotion; He will give us a multitude of excuses: tiredness, occupations, etc., not to pray the Holy Rosary," Sister Lucia warned. Sister also stressed that the salvation program is, in fact, very short and easy because with the Holy Rosary "we will practice the Holy Commandments, we will take advantage of the frequency of the Sacraments, we will try to fulfill our duties perfectly and do what God wants from each of us."
"There is no problem however difficult it may be: temporary or spiritual; whether it refers to the personal life of each of us or the life of our families, the world or religious communities, or the life of peoples and nations; there is no problem, I repeat, however difficult it may be, that we cannot solve now with the recitation of the Holy Rosary," Sister Lucia concluded.
