Rejoice in the arrival of the Christ Child—the blessings of His love are infinite and abundant!
This week, we encourage you to focus on the blessing of love throughout each day, specifically, the love God has granted us through the birth of His Most Holy son at Christmas.
Love by its very nature is a gift. This isthegift of gifts; the Lord God has sent His magnificent to our most Blessed Mother for our salvation. Mary has a natural and God-given motherly love for the Christ Child, and we, too, are blessed with this love, especially throughout the season of Advent. God’s true and undeserved love for us shines through in His sending His only son to save us.
Not only is love a gift from God, but it is also a gift of self. It isthe virtue of virtues, the calling for us to love our neighbors as ourselves for the very love of the Divine Himself. It is the full, authentic giving of ourselves so that we may receive the Love’s divine mercy and abundant blessings in return.
When we manifeststorgelove, the sort of familial love of a parent towards offspring and vice versa, we give love to those around us and take note of all that the Divine has blessed us with. When we manifestagapelove, the love originating from the Divine, we truly understand and carry out the selfless act of giving love to those who need it most, without expecting anything in return.
During this fourth week, when we look at the Advent wreath, we are reminded of Jesus’ unending love. We are reminded to keep a Christcentric focus throughout this season and walk closely with the Blessed Mother through her journey. Now more than ever, we need to be a light for the world, a reminder of a greater and truer love—the love of the Divine. We rejoice in the love we have been shown by the Holy Family, and we ask for the courage to love in the way the Christ Child loves us.
This year has been nothing short of a constant reminder to love fully and freely every day. We want to encourage you to share this selfless love with those in your life who may be difficult to love or who don’t always love in return. The Ghirelli Mary’s Motherly Love Collection will inspire and encourage loving, honest prayer during the time of the Christ Child’s birth.
We want to leave you with a prayer to reflect on the blessings of love this week, especially on Christmas Day. We pray that you are granted the free and beautiful love of the Christ Child and that you share it with the ones who mean the most to you.
