The Cross takes inspiration from the Gospel passage John 15:1-4-5: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine grower.…. Remain in me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing.”
The Centerpiece is a replica of the Monstrance blessed by the Holy Father Pope Francis that will be used at the 10th National Eucharistic Congress. The Monstrance is a tribute to Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the National Eucharistic revival. “I will be with you always until the end of time” (Matthew 28:20) The Words of Matthew’s Gospel are the summary and reason for the NEC, the Real Presence of Jesus in the Consecrated Host.
